Scholastic Portfolio Photography Pieces

Part 5 and 6 out of 6 of my portfolio submission to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. The portfolio was awarded a Silver Key.


"Life Passes By" represents not understanding what you are doing with your life while simultaneously thinking that everyone else is confident and on a mission. I used a slow f-stop to create the blurred other people as the subject in the middle stays still and in focus.

"Overwhelmed" represents how life continues to hand things to you and doesn't allow time to stop for a breather. The six items represent six obligations in my life that overwhelm me. The Cheeto bag represents food choices, the phone is my social life, the bookbag is schoolwork, the guitar is my hobbies, the hat is my job, and the honors certificate is the diploma that, at the time of the portfolio, I was struggling to obtain.
